best matress for chronic pain situation
I got a nerve injury from a Yoga class that developed into chronic pain and finding the right mattress is a nightmare now. I have been lucky to have twice found mattresses that worked over the last 10 years but each of them compressed after three years. One was a very inexpensive Simmons beautyrest that I found in my parent's home after they died and another was also a Simmons -- slightly more expensive. The price doesn't seem to really matter. I have been reading the posts for quite a while now and trying out organic latex beds, but part of the problem I am running up against is that I need a smooth soft surface with a firm base for my back and most of the mattresses seem to have all kinds of stitching on them. Part of my chronic pain situation is a hypersensitivity so the stitching causes pain. It does seem to be very idiosyncratic because the two mattresses that worked for me did have some stitching but somehow it didn't bother me because of the material or the way it was laid out. The pillow top mattresses don't work for me because they press against the nerve and some of the latex mattresses also do that. But, in any case, I was wondering what people think about the new Simmons latex mattresses and also about the royalpedic mattress. And if anyone has any other suggestions I would deeply deeply appreciate it. Thank you. |
