what would be the advantages and disadvantages of tempurpedics in comparison to Latex. Both are a big sum of money. So I want to be careful that I have made the best informed decision. ______________________ I am reading in case of tempureidcs that: 1. they sleep hot. How would a tempurpedic behave in summers scorching heat. I reside in Nevada. It get spretty hot here. 2. If you want to turn sideways or change positions in tempurpedics you have to make a conscious effort and that wakes you up at night. I am a side sleeper and I tend to turn while sleeping. That is all I know so far about tempurpedics. _______________________
I know nothing about latex. !. Does it sleep hot? 2. How hard is it to change sleeping positions in the latex mattress. _________________________
Further more, given the same amount of money to spend, which would be a better choice - tempurpedic or latex. If latex which source would be the best. __________________________
I again apologize if these are a lot of questions but I have to make the decision to buy the mattress soon. Hence seeking best advice. Budgy you are the expert here, please advice. I promise after this I will not ask so many question sor put so many threads. Thank you every one. |
Your numerous queries reflect that you have NOT made much of an effort to review previous forum contributions. Seeking a FORUM CONSENSUS on any topic is probably unrealistic! |
On your specific concerns.....on Tempur I imagine that Nevada is quite the arid climate....so despite the heat you will likely not have any more severe heat issues than someone who say lives on the East coast where it is typically cooler yet also a lot more humid. The beds are going to be a little more difficult to move in as they are not meant to have a springy type of feel to them. For some people this is an issue....for many they sleep like a log on these things once they conk out. On Latex Some people do find latex warm, most will agree that because it is far more breathable than other varietes of foam that heat is rarely an issue on these mattresses. Particularly ones that use a natural quilting layer like sheep's wool. Very easy to roll around on a rubber mattress.
On these comparisons alone I guess we would say the benefits are stacked in favour of latex, however some people just find the Tempur feeling to be far superior and the negatives are worth it. |
My experience with Tempurpedic was that when we first got it, it felt absolutely amazing. Within about 2 weeks or so it got too soft and we began to wake up with lower back pain. Sent it back. Now use latex over springs (sometimes incorporate some Sensus or [fake] Venus memory foam into the mix. So far I have never used any memory foam for very long because it always softens up too much in a short time. Others do use memory foam on top of latex with success, so maybe my back is just too sensitive to the way memory foam softens. |
