Has anyone ever got a straight answer from Overstock.com customer service?

I am still tempted by the ECO latex toppers sold by overstock.com. I contacted them to try and get some more info, but keep getting automated replies saying my question cannot be answered because I have offended their mail system by forgetting to dot an i or cross a t.

r they reply asking for more details, even though the info was already in an earlier email.

Just curious, am I having a bad run of luck, or are they one of those companies that will do anything to avoid actually answering a customer inquiry?

Recent experience from someone who posted in this forum a few months back shows that he got answers by calling their 800#. I would recommend that, and keep calling and asking for the next higher up person in the chain of command until you get an answer.

yes, I did get answers.  The 2 inch latex topper is (their quote) "100% natural", Talalay latex with an ILD of 19. The mattresses are poly foam with one inch ( or two inches, I do forget) of that same latex glued onto the top. their latex topper is only 5 bucks cheaper than the same item at foamby mail, although the ILD is one point softer at Overstock. Once open, topper cannot be returned at overstock. foambymail has a 30 day return.

I just got a belated response from Overstock.com, and they told me the same thing, that the ECO toppers are " 19 ILD (Talalay) 100% natural latex". Now I wonder if I can believe them!

I read the reviews at O-stock, a few people said it was Latex Green, which is made in Sri Lanka (I believe) and it is Dunlop, so it will be (again I think) firmer than whatever it is rated.  Some say it is seconds.

I have the 1 1/2" toppers, medium firmness, you can't sleep directly on them (I can't).  One time I got a 23ILD LI blended, that was so flawed I had to cut that section out and move it at the feet.  So there you have it.  I am tempted myself to try the 2" one you refer too, but I am a USA made latex person.  Even though I can't say where the others are from for sure without a tag.

wow, I'm glad I read this. and I'm glad you tried calling. I also read in one of the online reviews that it felt more like Dunlop. In the description, it says it is from Sri lanka. I think that is fine from there, I mean that is where all those trees are where they get it from. But I would hate to get a topper too firm for my daughtes bed. As for Foambymail, I was looking there too, but they said their latex is from Europe? mmmm

I got my mattress from SleepEz, I feel good about it's safety for my health at least, even if it does make my lower back sore some nights.
