Buying a mattress set is usually a hassle but I think I have the best way to save money and avoid being overcharged. Remember mattress sales people are all bullshi**ers and will make up any story they can as they try to be 'folksy' and sell you something overpriced. I have recently used this method, go into sleepys or equivalent alone and ask for moderate priced queen bed sets until you find one you like. You need to write down firmness level and coil count. The names are different for each retailer so consumers cannot easily comparison shop. IE, Simmons same mattress has a name at sleepys, a different name at Macys, a different name at mattress giant, etc. After saying I would be back with my wife I went online. These are all Presidents day special prices which seem to be $300 or $400 lower than normal Sleepys price was $999 plus tax with free delivery Macys was $797 plus tax with free delivery US-Mattress was $769 with no sales tax with free delivery (internet sales tax laws are vague and if there is no 'brick and mortar' presence in your state you don't pay sales tax) Obviously I bought via US-Mattress - did not receive yet but will post again when delivered.
