I just bought a cushion firm matress but it still fells too hard for my shoulder and hips. My gf and I are both side sleepers, 160lbs and 97 lbs. Would do you recommend for a topper - latex or memory foam , what size and what firmness? (I was thinking Talalay Latex Foam Topper, 2", 32 ILD.) I need something soft but I want a topper to keep its shape after sleeping on it.

I have a queen cushion firm mattress and added a 2" latex topper (19 ILD) and it feels great.  For me 32 ILD would be too firm.

I've been reading alot of posts and i think 1-2" latex topper w/ 22-28 ILD seems about right.

I recommend that both you and your girlfriend try out latex and memory foam beds to gain a better appreciation for the differences between the two materials, which feel nothing alike. Some people love memory foam and hate latex, and vice versa.
