Ergo base with DIY mattress?

I've been lurking off and on for a year and I'm pretty sure I want to DIY our new bed based on what I've read here.

Could you do a diy latex/foam bed and use an ergo/adjustable bed base? I wasn't sure if that would work due to the general need for a firm, slatted bed frame with the DIY latex/foam beds I've seen posted here.

Thanks!

You sure can.  They recommend that latex is the best mattress to use on an electric base (which is what I assume you mean by 'ergo').  Slats are recommended for the extra breathability, but latex is quite porous, and the experts we spoke to had no hesitation in saying there would be no problems using a full base.

We have latex on a Prodigy and are very happy with the combo.  Our latex matts could fairly easily be done at home (although the zoning would have made them more expensive).  Going with a manufacturer with comfort  policy was good for us as I have pain issues etc, and we have certainly got our money's worth (custom sleep design) but I wouldn't hesitate in the least at doing a DIY with all the resources here on this forum.  go for it, and enjoy!
