If I wanted to do something like the SleepEZ 10,000 with soft, med, x-firm layers would this work closely?

$230 3" soft 20ILD Latex
$240 3" Medium 32ild Latex
$122 LUX HQ 3" 50ILD FOAM PU

I realize it isn't all Latex, but it is a lot less expensive :)  Is the latex decent from FBM? The other thread gave a variety of opinions, and Haysdb *the foam god* returned his FBM Latex? :)

I think that would be close. But SleepEZ's soft is 25ILD - not 20. And 2.8" thick - not 3". I would just be afraid 3" of 20 may be too soft. If it is, how would you firm it up? If you get 2" of 20ILD, you could always order another inch for $85 shipped.

FBM restocking fee is 15% of the purchase price.

If I build it, I think I need

3" 32 ILD Latex
3" 32 ILD Latex

Some other pu foam.

But lately, I am leaning towards just spending the cash and getting it from Sleepez.  Seems like they have great quality, and I have yet to read anything but great things about the beds...

I would never discourage anyone from buying a mattress from SleepEZ or FloBeds. They both seem expensive at first blush, but for what you get, they both represent excellent values IMO. You can save some money by building something, but ONLY by cutting back on the quality somewhere - either substituting Urethane foam for latex, and/or settling for a very basic terry cloth cover instead of a nice cotton and wool cover. To build an equivalent mattress, you will spend as much or more. Where the real value lies with these companies is in their expertise and customer service.

Yes, that's what I am thinking. i am just working myself to just spending the $1600 :)

Shawn really seemed to know his stuff. He told me 10000 would be fine for me provided I get
Medium - Firm - Xfirm

What is strange, jeremy said Medium Medium X-firm.

Not sure, seems like Shawn knows his stuff more though?

I would follow Shawn's recommendation.
