Seems to be a lot of chatter regarding heat issues w/ foam beds. I am 6'1" 235 lb with an arthritic knee and sweat excesively due to a medical condition and my wife is 5'6" and 135 lb w/ a bad back (no sweat issues). We both sleep on our side. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Sleeping on latex or memory foam can be made cooler by using a wool topper. There are some threads on this in the past couple months. Budgy I believe said something about Linen, too, but I'm not sure. I find that wool really feels nice on top of my latex. Check out those threads on wool toppers.

I suppose I should qualify my previous statements to indicate that the memory foam I replaced was an older (~5 years) "Carpenter" style, around 5#. Still in very good shape, I just couldn't stand it anymore.

There are a lot of newer foams out there, which are designed to disspiate heat more, and give you less of a "sinking" feeling when you sleep on them, and they rebound faster.

A friend of mine bought the NutraTemp bed @ CostCo, and it seems very different. I wouldn't say it feels like Latex, but it doesn't feel much like my Carpenter foam felt, either.

I've also seen a few different ads for foams that are mixed with Latex, instead of synthetic polymers, to make memory foam (perhaps that is the case with NutraTemp, I don't know.)

Anyway, my comments about "sleeping on a heating pad" were in regard to the traditional style of memory foam, not the newer types.
