How the heck do you remove wrinkles from King-sized bed sheets?

I just realized that King beds are way bigger than I expected, and also way too big for my apartment.  I guess it would have paid if I checked out bed sizes before deciding on what size to get based on what sounded big enough in my head. LOL!

I do not own an iron. I use a steamer instead.  I didn't wanna hang my King-sized sheet over my shower bar because it would get all cruddy from the bar and the shower curtain and touching the tub etc.

So I tried mounting part of the sheet on an ironing board and another part of it over my head, whilst I used a steamer on it.  That was way too cumbersome and time-consuming to be effective.

I'm thinking that even if I did own an iron, dealing with King-sized sheets would still be quite difficult.  Where do you put most of the sheet while you are ironing a small section of it?    Won't it take forever to do the whole thing?

Do any of you know of efficient and time-effective ways to remove wrinkles from King-sized sheets? cheeky

I want to iron sheets because my King-sized sheets came compressed in very small packages that could fit into a purse.

The drawback to that compression is that when I put them on my bed, there are massive wrinkle marks all over the place from the tons of folding that was done to fit them into the package.

No, I don't iron underwear since no one sees it but me.

But if I have visitors they will see my sheets so I feel that it looks sloppy to have the fold-wrinkles remaining very prominent in them.

Wash them in a quick cycle, then dry them and take them out while still warm and place on the bed.  Voila!

That is sensible advice.  However, I loathe putting things I care about in the washing machine since because I live in an apartment, I am forced to either use public washing machines which I do not trust, or drycleaners, most of which I also do not trust.

I do know of a local high-end drycleaner who charges $12-14 CAD to clean dress shirts and $18 to clean dress pants.  I trust them more than any other cleaning method, but I can't really afford their services, other than on a very infrequent basis. frown

Wrinkles should come out during the wash/dry procedure....and if you're more worried about wrinkles the guaranteeing your sheets are cleaned before use you really are "

confused". Wouldn't being clean trump wrinkles?

I put my undergarments and socks in public washing machines, and the particular pairs of pants which I don't care about.

For everything else, I usually take it to the local high-end drycleaner, but I'm not able to do that very often.

Previously I had $15 sheets from Zellers, which I didn't care about, so I put them in public washing machines whenever I needed to.  They are now full of holes a result of a few years of that, though.

Now that I've moved into higher-end sheets for my new bed, I am reluctant to use public washing machines on them lest they become full of holes too, or get stained from the cruddy bleach remnants from other laundromat patrions seeping onto them, or get mixed in with some weird crap left in the machines prior to me using them (pens, gum, coins etc.), etc., etc.

Yeah. Lay on 'em. Flattens the wrinkles right out. surprise

Seriously, I wouldn't put new sheets on a bed without washing them first. The fabric is coated with all kinds of stuff to make it lie flat during manufacture, sewing, etc.

Wash them on gentle, dry also on gentle - and remove them when they are done and put them right on your bed.

I had a great aunt that used to spend hours ironing her sheets every week. She probably should have been in a mental institution, but the family didn't know any better.
