All,

I am really going crazy because I have not been sleeping well and have been waking up with sore body. Let me tell you about my profile as well as mattresses I have tried:

I am a male, 6', 170 lbs. I sleep 90% on my side and 10% on my stomach. I say 10% on my stomach because while I mostly sleep on my back, sometimes when I wake up, I am in this position which is somewhere inbetween side and stomach

I have tried two mattresses and both of them have not worked for me:

Mattress 1: This is a latex mattress from Sealy. I dont have any more details on it. When I sleep on this, I wake up with very sore neck and shoulders

Mattress 2: This is a relatively cheap memory foam mattress from Walmart. While it worked fine in 1st month, I feel it stopped providing support soon after that. When I sleep on this, while my shoulders are fine, I wake up with a really bad backbache.

I have looked at many different places to buy latex mattress from (sleepez, foambymail, flobeds, plushbeds). Flobeds has a v-zone mattress where you get different level of firmness for your shoulders, back, hips, legs etc. This sounded really interesting but was quite expensive.

I definitely dont want to go to spring mattress. Also while I know my experience with memory foam was with a relatively cheap memory foam (vs. tempurpedic which sells 85kg/m3 memory foam) but it has made me more inclined towards latex

Well, I've been through a brand new Stearns and Foster (their entry level model), not comfortable by morning

a Serta iComfort Revolution, too plush, sunk in too much, brought on stiffer neck but taught me about memory foam pressure relieving capability

a SleepEZ 10000 - very good basic mattress, not a hint of smell, takes some DIY work to handle, it's latex rubber, so I can't say it's as pressure relieving as memory foam.... one caveat though -

Make sure you don't go too soft with memory foam.  I don't think it is good to sink into a mattress very much.  I bought regular Cloud and it's going well.

.................

I've had 3 days on a brand new Tempurpedic Cloud -  I'm pretty sure this will be the keeper as in no more shopping. It was 76 F in room at 11pm last night, so went to bed in sleep shorts and turned the quilt down (IOW, this TP sleeps a little warmer than the SleepEZ) ... but the payoff is good - support is fine, don't sink in too much and pressure relief is unbeatable.  It's only 8" thick mattress, but wow can TP pack a lot into 8".   The adjustable base is a nice little addition for early morning - I put it in head / legs up position to get on my back.   Cloud price - $1300 with tax twin XL.  Not cheap, but quality seems worth it,    .... so far.

btw, I'm almost 100% side sleeper and I haven't found anything easier on hips and shoulders than memory foam.

What are you saying about how you sleep?  You said 90% side, 10% other .... then said mostly on your back.... I think you meant to say 'side' not back.
