Shepard's Dream Wool Topper

I just wanted to see if anyone has this companies Snuggle Mate topper on a latex bed. We got one for our Savvy Rest, but haven't put it on yet. We tried it at the store and it felt very plush, but I wonder if it will compromise the support of the foam in some way. We like the plushness of standard pillow top mattresses and this gave that feel without the fumes. I've read through some of the topper threads. We have a split king too. I was going to stay with a queen, but my other half was more interested in a king. We put the topper on today and I had forgotten how good it feels. We tried it at the store and liked it there, but it has been a month or more since we tried it, so I forgot. Yes, it's a lot of money, but it still came out cheaper than the sleep number bed with more for our money. It will be our Christmas gift for the next couple of years. I couldn't get warm last night until I figured out that the cold was coming through the mattress, so I had to put on warmer clothes to get warm and sleep. It's set up on the floor until our bed frame comes and we're having our first cold spell of the winter, great timing, eh? I'm hoping the wool topper will help tonight. We've gotten used to the mattress now and like it. After the first night, I woke up without the usual low back pain and my dh says he has less stiffness too. Now I need to get a pillow to go with it since my neck still gets stiff. I have a contour memory foam pillow now and it feels hard and doesn't work with this bed. I'll be getting a latex pillow too once I can find one that's soft enough, but supportive too. |

I bought a wool topper from these guys, and think it's a nice product, but way too firm for my taste, was not comfortable for me. Now it sits in a bag in the closet, not sure what to do with it. http://www.sleepandbeyond.com/menu.php I was trying to "soften up" or "cozy up" a firm Latex bed, never worked out. |

| I like it very much. It just gives the latex some cushiness and it's insulating against the cold floor. We have the 3" version. Our bed is 3 layers of latex, with firm on the bottom, soft in the middle and medium on top and the wool topper just adds some soft cushioning, somewhat like a pillowtop innerspring mattress, very comfy. If my mattress felt too firm to begin with, I don't think this would've helped much. That's why we went with the adjustable layers and I tried it out without the topper for a few nights until I decided that combo would work for me. Too bad you didn't like it. |
