at first I thought you wanted a cotton filled pillow.

look for high quality down filled pillows in quality cotton covers...its the softest pillow you can get (depending on the firmness level you choose)

Well I followed your advice and more problems have emerged.

First I got 2 down pillows.

When I lay down on 1 pillow it squeashes down totally and I find myself flat on the bed.

When I tried both of them together I find my neck and head too high above the bed it is very uncomfortable.

I did not get any sleep all night on the down pillows.

So you got any other advice? Thanks.

what company did you buy them from? most high quality down pillows are available in soft/medium/firm options.  knowing what you bought would help decipher where to go next.

I got it from Costco and it came in a pair. It is called Carisma and i bought it in queen size.

The feathers in the down pillow shift when I lay on them and all I do all night is trying to get those damn feathers in the down pillow underneath my head and neck to get some support but that is every 15 minutes or less all nightie and on and on it goes.  Now I have 2 days of nightmarish sleep.

No dissing here, just very frustrated and getting to extreme fatigue due to lack of sleep. Honestly, it feels like I cannot even walk properly, feel really dizzy and eyes are blurry.

I just searched Costco's website and found the pillow you purchased.  It is labelled as "down alternative", this is polyester fill pillow.  You also do not want to buy a feather pillow, you strictly want a goose down pillow.  You will not likely find a good quality one at a department store or a wholesaler like Costco.

You are wrong. They are down pillow not a down alternative pillows so says the label on the wrapper they were wrapped in. Online might me different then in the store in costco.

But you have not said from where can I get this goose down pillows if not in stores or costco then where? anywhere? what brand? There has got to be some places that you know that sell goose down pillows in high quality? Can you list them please. Thanks so much.

What about cotton pillows. Are all cotton pillows soft? From where can I get a soft cotton pillow if It is so hard to find anything else in soft?

Sorry if I am mistaken, does this down pillow from costco list the fill power or loft of the down?  If it doesn't then it wasn't worth listing.  Thankfully you bought them from Costco and they have an excellent return policy.

I am not from the US, so I am not sure what the best place is too purchase from.  I do recommend St. Geneve down products, they are the best quality around.  Lajord pillow in particular is fantastic for a true 800 loft down pillow.  Try to search the brands website to see if their is a dealer near you. The price on these will be significantly higher than costco so you will want to try them out before purchasing. I am not sure of any other brand in the US that approaches their quality. In Canada we seem to have a lot more options when it comes to high quality down.

A cotton filled pillow is going to be extremely firm compared to a goose down pillow.

nope it ddoes not but if it did I can't know that now since I threw the wrapping away. Thanks. This price of almost 400 dollars is out of my range. Do you recommend any other pillows that are much cheaper? I went to a store and it had a Canadian working in it and he said US sucks big time in quality bedding! No wonder we all have low back pain, aches, and the all the ailments. Thanks.

Lands End (and I think L L Bean) make nice down pillows w/ cotton covers, of various firmnesses. Some are chambered meaning there's a thicker part inside which supports your head more and then softer layers around it.  I love my Lands End down pillow, I think it's called "Down Around", I've had it for years.  They are over $100 but everything is returnable. You should talk to the customer service reps FIRST and they will help you pick out the best one.

Have you tried a soft latex pillow?  If it's really soft, latex pillows work really well for support and softness.
