Well, the tempurpedic mattress soften over time, how will they then provide support? very contradictory statement. |
Anyone ever considered many of the Tempurpedic complaints are simply customers who bought a model that is too soft for them within the trial period, they didn't pay attention during that period, get stuck with it, and are just mad because they wish they had a different bed? I knew within 3 weeks the iComfort Revolution was too soft for me. It wasn't that the mattress was sinking down and down, it was a little too soft from early on, but the effects can be subtle as it takes a week or so for the neck or back to tweak a little if it's wrong. Get the right mattress for you and all should remain well. So much talk of mattresses starting into a sagging trend after few months. I can't wait to find out. I think it will be rather uneventful. I thought cloud did not have much cushion on the top. I tried supreme and found that my butt/hips were sinking more in it and that I almost touched the base foam. I tried signature. It felt little bit too firm to me. I don't know if it wil feel the same after 1 night on it. It is not as if I didn't tried them.
I am confused about supreme. The salesman told me although I was sinking in it more, It was a good fit to me. I wonder.... Another salesman told me signature was good fit as I was laying in it for sometime without turning and shifting sleep positions?
I am still confused. Budgy said not to buy low density foam. Buy high density foam mattress. I have tried BRAND NEW rhapsody at my friends place (IN HI SGUEST ROOM) for 1 week. It was good at firsts and then I started to wake up with pains.
i ALSO FOUND THAT WITH RHAPSODY MY HIPS AND BUTTS WERE SINKING AND SINKING/SAY THE FOAM WAS DISAPPERING BENEATH THE HIPS AND BUTTOCKS! THAT MY BACK WAS HURTING AS THE FOAM FELT SOFTER AND SOFTER and disappeared beneath those parts! So you see the confusion that I am dealing with. This message was modified Dec 1, 2011 by Joed

We bought the firm matress (massager, head and foot lift) A few years ago I had a herniated lumbar disc which has never really been a problem...until I started sleeping on this godawful bed. I thought I just needed to get used to the bed, which the sales clerk told us is common. The sales clerk said it (mattress) would be a little firmer than the one in the show room, but pretty quickly it would "soften" up a bit; so if we wanted a firm-style we should go with the firm mattress. After about 10 weeks of sleeping on this bed, my lower back is to the point that I may need surgery. My husband has now developed problems with his back. I wish I knew how to get it to "soften" a bit. We tried a softer "topper" for a few weeks, but that wasn't the answer. We are stuck with a bed that cost $7,000.00+ and cannot sleep on it. Honestly, it is like sleeping on a rock. ***Does anyone know how to slightly soften this kind of bed? |
The model you try in a store is almost always browken in or conditioned, the new one you receive will be much firmer and will "soften up" to feel like the one in the store anywhere from 3-8 weeks... the softening up is based on conditioning the feel from new to comfortable. Some people like the change over time during the first couple of months while it bexcomes "personally" contoured to their sleep pattern and style, some says it feels softer where they sleep. Here is how to fix that (generally speaking) Walking (or crawling) head-to-toe and side-to-side across the top will condition the ENTIRE mattress and not just your sleep area. Otherwise, the sleep area is the only "soft" part of the bed... ANY bed. Many complain about the ridge down the center of a king mattress and this is the cause of that ridge: foam that has not been conditioned so it still feels like new. If this isn't making sense, try running your fingers on the inside of your shoes... can you feel the ridges caused by your toes? these are "body" impressions designed to custom fit your feet pattern; it is the main reason you cannot wear your best friends shoes with the same size-- they "feel" weird on the inside. they are not custom fit to you... put in a gel insole and it removes the custom design and yu probably can wear them... or buy new insoles. You just need to make the foot bed even again to feel comfortable. Hope this helps! Sleep well |
