It was 2nd night.  I noticed first night it was a little bit warm.  I got warmer on 2nd night.  Had to get up, change into shorts. After I turned down the quilt, it got better and was able to sleep.

Talked to TP this morning and of course they said excess warmth is from improved circulation. 

Fingers crossed!

I would imagine there's a couple around here at WTBM who may be a little disappointed that I went over to memory foam from latex, but my situation is unique.  Not many have had shoulder surgery like me, but man, it's a bear when you need to sleep on a shoulder sometimes.  There may be some other types of foam that are more pressure relieving than good memory foam, but so far, the winner for me is memory or Tempur foam.

I bought a Tempurpedic last month and we love it.  We got the Allura and my wife and i have had no issues at all.  After reading the post on this site i was really worried it would be hot and bad smell.  However, the smell was almost nonexistent to us.  on a scale of 1-10 high being 10 ,i rate smell as being a 1. There was a smell, but it was gone within 24hrs and the smell wasn't bad at all.  As for sleeping hot, i have always slept in boxers only and in this bed i do not feel hot at all.  I will say this thou, we have always had the overhead fan on as we cannot stand a room that has no air flow and we use a normal fan to mask any house noise.  We also use 700TC sheets.  Even w/o the fans i still find myself pulling up the sheets and the bed spared because i still get cold in this bed.  We also have the prodigy adjustable frame and we love having a adjustable bed.  After day one on this bed my back pain was gone and i have to say my posture has improved.  I love this bed and would recommend one to my friends and i would buy one again.                  

I would think a Rhapsody bed would have a good combination of not sinking in too much and great pressure relief.  Rhapsody's I've tried with HD foam conform incredibly well which leads to amazing pressure relief. 

With this Cloud, there is still a slight odor coming from the mattress.  I can tell because if I shut the window and door for a few hours, then enter the room, there is a slight odor.  So, I'm really looking forward for that to go away.  I would say that is the downside of the mattress so far.  It doesn't bother me as in, no reaction to the odor.  Of course I hope it is ultimately harmless as they claim. 

If the odor goes away in a couple weeks and it maintains its integrity for 10 years, I'd say it's a winner for sure.  Obviously I'll need 10 years to really know :)

Without a doubt, I can spend much more time laying on my right shoulder with this mattress (old injury / arthro surgery on rt. shoulder years ago).  Last night I was laying and sleeping directly on right shoulder for quite some time.  The only foam I have found so far that will accomodate that is memory foam.  I could lay on right side with iComfort Revolution, but sank in too much, so didn't work over time.  I don't sink in too much on Cloud.

The strange thing is I haven't been feeling so awfully refreshed in the morning, but that could be due to several others factors like stress.  I'm a little concerned about the slight odor that is still coming off the mattress and pillow.  Wondering if I don't want to breathe as freely due to that.  It would be so much better if the things did not smell.  Easily the biggest downside so far.

Far as sleeping hot - was 80 F in the room at 10 pm last night.  Had to turn covers down at first, but was not hot rest of night.

If someone lived in a situation where the room is routinely over 80 F at bedtime, would probably want to skip any memory foam bed.

A Tempurpedic twin XL fixed foundation 9" is heavy!  I peered up throught the bottom fabric, and the top/center surface is fully reinforced as they say. I'd be shocked if it sags a quarter inch.  I don't see how it could.  Appears to be very solid construction, unlike some comments I've heard around here that 'it's the cheapest foundation around'.  I don't see that in what I got.  It looks very sturdy and heavy duty.  It might weight twice as much as the typical S brand 'box spring' sold nowadays.

So, this twin XL set is $1450 + tax.  A split king would be $2900. Assuming it will maintain its feel for years, I think it is a good value.  As most know, one downside is the odor off Tempurpedic sets.  Being too hot is a complete non-issue.  I think the strongest point is the initial quality of the set.  Hopefully it is long lasting quality too.
