Can anyone tell me how they feel, and more importantly, do they have any odor to them? also is it better to order from a place that gets their latex from Sri Lanka or Europe?. thanks in advance.

additional details: these toppers are going to be for my kids.

How long ago was this, and how was the 2" topper described in the listing - was it the same "2" ECO luxury latex topper" listing they that they are using now?

Reason I am curious, Overstock has sworn to me and others that the ECO luxury toppers they are now selling are talalay. But since they also say they are from Shri Lanka, and the biggest supplier there only does dunlap, there is reason to question whether the CS people at Overstock really know.

I actually called them and explained my concerns, and asked if they could check and see if they weren't by any chance made by Latex Green, and was told they couldn't tell me the manufacturer, but the toppers really were talalay.

As I have said before OS does not know!  I also said this is a grab bag.  If you are looking for a soft topper look elsewhere.  For me it worked out, as bottom layers, and as a test sample of the 23ILD Latex International.  They are selling various toppers and can't and will not guarantee what it is.  Last time for me to post this.  I am happy with what I purchased as I was looking for a grab bag apparently.  Most of the pieces are LG because of the pictures Budgy posted of the LG pieces have strange holes because their molds are different (spikes) on each side.  Also my LG labeled piece had the same holes, and my unmarked pieces were like that too.  So most of their latex is dunlop.  But I still am happy with the latex.  Not everyone will be.  One person here said she received a piece with a footmark on it.  She returned it.  Has CS ever known anything about their products?  But for 97% of the time mine were quality pieces with a few flaws like most folks get.  Remember OS is an liquidating outfit so that explains why they get many varied pieces.  I was on a tight budget and I am satifisfied with my end result.  Your results may vary.  Good luck.

Good information, but you have not answered either of my questions  - how long ago did you buy your latex from OS, and was it described then as E.C.O. Luxury Latex Topper, as the current stuff is, or by another description?

It is possible, if you bought it some time ago, that they had another product altogether, under a different description, in which case it is possible that the stuff they are listing today is a different product. On the other hand, if you bought the same stuff they are listing now, recently, and they shipped dunlop, not talalay, then it is highly likely that buying from they is a crapshoot, and they don't have a clue what they are selling.

ok, thanks guys. I got the 3 inch latex for my daughters bed. It seemed just as good as SleepEz, even smelled the same, but not a strong odor.

The only difference is, that some of the latex looks dirty. I don't get this?. Is this because it is all natural like they say, or did someone pee on it?. I'm gonna send them an email about this. They did agree to give me a discount since I was originally going to buy a 2" from OS. Maybe that is why I got a crappy piece of latex. But it did feel squishy and good, but my girls said it is firmer than SleepEz latex. I may have to return it for a soft instead of medium.

leo3 - just wanted to add that I was on a 42 ild dunlop at long's bedding in nyc and though very firm, suited me. so while the softer dunlop from overstock may still be too firm for you, for some people with severe spine problems, the overstock dunlop might work. the firmness thing is so individual it is hard to gauge from one person to another.

I am not coming back here often, but I caught this one.  I have 15ILD LG Dunlop and it is firm. 42ILD are your positive this is dunlop?  Did you sleep on it overnight for several days?  If not you really can not say for sure.  Jim has 32ILD of LG dunlop and he can't sleep on it either.  It is firm stuff.  I have never said it was not suited for others, I said IMHO I can not sleep on it as a top layer.  I will never give recommendations for someone else, and nobody ever should.

Just for the record, has anyone here managed to positively identify foambymails talalay as being really talalay?

I just ran into another instance of someone selling something they swore was talalay which appeared to be dunlop, so I am wondering if anyone knows the hell what they are selling. I notice they say it's 100% natural which is usually a tip off that a vendor is either selling dunlop, or is lying of misinformed about the 100% part.

no, did not sleep on it overnight. salesman at Long's bedding told me it was a 42 dunlop. since this is a natural bedding store and they sell a lot of models with talalay on top, I trusted he knew his product. I will add that I found the beds with soft talalay on top to be much too soft for me. they felt like very soft memory foam and did not feel supportive enough. may work for other people, but did not work for me.

hi, i'm new but have been reading for some time and have, unfortunately, been researching mattresses for about 4 months now and have yet to find the right mattress.

as for overstock, i too was told that they were latex green ild 19 talalay. but i would imagine that they would have varying types/ilds depending on who their suppliers are at any given time.

also, i have yet to get a clear answer about returns at overstock.

does anyone know if one orders a topper, opens it, lays it out and lies down on it to see if it is comfortable, then if it is not, packages it up and sends it back, do they give a full refund? or do they only refund unopened toppers?

thanks

Ditto. I'm wondering the same thing. I am considering  getting a couple of MF or Latex topper for our new split king TP, just to add a little something something in the way of softness over the firm mattresses. But, I was concerned about being able to return it. Unfortunately, they seem to have the biggest selection and lowest prices for Twin XL toppers. Otherwise, I would just go with Amazon or Costco.com.
