I have an old memory foam topper that I am going to try out tonight to see if it softens my costco latex enough. Problem is, the old topper is queen and I have a king now, and it's too hot. But, if I like the feel of the 1" memory foam, what ILD in latex toppers should I look for? I definately want a softer feel.

Diane, you have the NutraTemp? I was just at Costco today and saw it there. I liked the feel of it and the cover, but was afraid of it sleeping hot. That hasn't been your experience?

I think you can only find the nutratemp in 3" though.  Possibly too thick.  I have found that the cooler memory foams are not that different than latex temperature wise.  Mem-cool from overstock and a 2" one I bought at Costco years ago have been similiar to latex for me  But, I usually have some kind of wool topper over them as well.

Did you get too hot on the 2" memory foam you used?  What kind is it?

I just went and measured my memory foam. I think I must have had a 1.5 inch topper, because it's more like 3 inches than 2. So I think I will be good with the 3 inch from Costco. At least I can return it if it doesn't work out. I think it will be great for me, just wonder if DH is going to like it too. *sigh*

I sleep a little hot on the MF right now, but Ikind of sleep hot on the latex as well. Hormones I guess. This has happened in the last 6 months. I got the current MF from Overstock years ago and don't know what kind it is. I have a 3" costco MF at my cottage and sleep fine on that. I wonder if the MF covers help at all with the heat? I don't have a cover on the MF I am using right now, but there is one on the cottage MF.

Yes, the Nutratemp is 3".  We have a Dormeir wool mattress pad on top of it.   I'm only 107 lb and I don't sink in all that much.  So, perhaps those 2 factors help with it not sleeping too warm.  But my husband, who weighs more and sinks in more doesn't have any heat issues with it either.  A few years back we spent a few nights at a B & B that had a tempurpedic - now that slept HOT - worse 3 nights of my life!  I can say the Nutratemp is nothing like that awful experience.  The thing about Costco is you can always take it back if it's not working for you.

Oops, forgot to mention that the Costco topper off-gasses quite a bit for at least a couple of weeks.
