We washed the protector in warm water and dried it cool according to the instructions. After one night on it, I can say that I did not notice any crinkle noise as some indicated in the previous thread. With no sheet over it, if one were to wipe his hand accross it, it is a little noisy, because of the slight roughness of the terry top and the polyU beneath it, but after placing sheets over it, there was no more noise than new sheets. It is nice and stretchy, allowing you to feel the mattress under it without the lumpiness of more traditional padded mattress protectors. Over all, a good experience.
