Greeting mattress experts and lurkers, I am a once-a-decade mattress buyer in need of assistance. Can anyone provide input for the Serta Icomfort foam mattress line? Specifically, I'm interested in the Revolution model king size. My initial search led me towards the Tempurpdic Rhapsody. However, many reviews suggest Tempurpedic's sleep "hotter" than spring or other foam mattresses. My wife is furnace so I dare not bring a mattress home which amplifies that issue. So, my next focus was the Simmons ComforPedic. My wife laid on every model and said they were "too springy" compared to the Tempurpedic and the iComfort. So we are down to one option right now, the iComfort. What I'm asking for help with is advice and comparison. The iComfort line of Serta is very, very new and this is possibly why there is no data or opinions on the internet. My heart is not set on the Revolution for $2,000 and I am genuinely interested in hearing advice and comments even if that information leads away from iComfort completely. Thoughts? Much appreciated, |

Thanks. I am so glad that you're (so far) happy with the Vera Wang. I have now moved onto the ground and am using a sleeping bag. haha. It's sad, really, but it's actually more comfortable. I have to wait 30 days before I return it. I only have 13 more to go. Huzzah! I am counting down the days. I will look back on this experience as a little mattress adventure. :) In the future, I will wait until a newer product is more established and has more reviews, no more experimenting for me! |
Hi,
So it has been almost a full week on the Vera Wang. Initial impressions were that it is extremely soft. The first 2-3 days I was worried that it may be TOO soft for me, but I am now warming up to the softness. The pillow top is extremely soft but like all pillowtops, will probably flatten out over some time. For right now at least, this appears to be a very soft, high quality bed. Had some friends over this weekend who have a Memory Foam bed from Simmons and they fell in love with our new bed. Everyone so far says it is so soft and comfortable. The bed is REALLY soft but yet gives you just enough support. We were a bit sore the first couple days from the switch, but I think some of it may have to do with the Rottweiler we sleep with in the bed lol. Overall the Vera Wang is superior in comfort to the Icomfort series we have tried. Now we just have to wait regarding the longevity of the mattress and the pillow top. My last pillow top lasted 7 years (Simmons Beautyrest World Class), so I am not too worried about the longevity as it is supposed to be a soy based latex pillow top. Insight I comfort King size owner 2+ weeks later...............husband still has no problem with the mattress, he likes it, he was a very hot sleeper with the pillow-top and with the icomfort has not had one hot night sleep, much nicer to cuddle with....................I have noticed and have come to the realization of giving time with such a drastic change from pillow-top to memory foam....................the tossing and turning does not effect my husbands night sleep I do every night, as did our pillow-top.........I am getting use to the firmness and do wake up rested.......do I love my insight icomfort as much as my husband, NO................but am willing to give it time due to the huge difference between the pillow-top comparted to the memory foam feel...............I would be willing to try the less firm i comfort but for the return price may not be worth it to possibly get the same effects....................and spend $1000 just to see if a little more cushion will satisfy my night sleep......... |
I personally sleep on an IComfort and LOVE it and had it for the last 5 weeks. Serta backs their bed with a 25yr warranty and 15 full replacement on body impressions. The reason I like my IComfort is due to the 70% memory foam with 30% Gel. Gives great air flow system taking away from sleeping hot. Remember when buying a foam/memory foam mattress. Pay attention to the thickness of the foam and what is in all layers compared to the weight of what your body is. If you are a bigger person sleeping on the lower end of a memory foam mattress then you will have a problem with dropping down to low thru the memory foam and onto the base foam. |
Nice plug for Serta ( any affiliation?). Costco sells this bed for a lot cheaper. The maker of Icomfort makes the same bed for Costco (Sleep innovations). Look at the law label of both beds. It'll say 'Made by Sleep Innovations'. Costcos return policy is a lot better too when you decide to return it. Hassle free. Hope that doesn't ruin anyone's day. It's the exact same gel memory foam as the toppers that costco sells also. It compresses in short order. I have a friend who likes to replace their's every few months from costco. |

Ok, here's a question for the last two posters. Before I actually ask the question, here is my situation...I am currently looking to buy a memory foam mattress and after doing a fair amount of reading, I have narrowed my choices to three brands: the Serta iComfort, the Costco Novaform Gel memory foam, and a Dynasty Mattress 12" memory foam (Dynasty Mattress appears to be a cheaper alternative to the Tempurpedic and gets excellent reviews on Amazon). Now common sense dictates that if the iComfort is indeed a rebranded Novaform and both mattresses are made by the exact same company (Sleep Innovations), then I would obviously choose the Novaform over the iComfort and save several hundred dollars while getting the exact same mattress. Having said that, I decided to visit a few mattress stores to look at the iComfort in person and check out the labels. All of the iComfort labels stated that the mattresses were made by Serta, NOT Sleep Innovations. I didn't see any information anywhere on the labels to indicate that Sleep Innovations had anything to do with the mattress. So where did you guys find that information? I would prefer to spend no more than several hundred dollars on a good quality memory foam mattress that'll last at least several years. If the iComfort is indeed a repackaged Novaform, then my choice will be narrowed down to the Novaform vs. the Dynasty Mattress. I'd appreciate any feedback or advice! |
