I slept for the first time in my sleep science latex mattress with foundation.

I woke up at night to see that the mattress had sagged in the middle!!!!!!!!!

more ever the foundation is made up of metal - bars and there is just a thin vinyl? cover that covers the top of foundation.

Where the latex mattress has sagged in the middle the vinyl cover of the foundation too has sagged and is bottoming out!!!!.

I did not expect this. It has been a shocker.

What should I do? I am very worried.

Thank you for your help.

The foundation has no central support bar where the mattress has sagged in the middle.

The foundation is poorly made. It is all metal and there is just a thin vinyl cover over it. It came with 4 legs.

I asked sleep science if I could just put the mattress foundation without legs on my iron rails that are connected to my head board and foot board.

They said that is okay.

So that is what I did.

I had the delivery guys put the foundation on my iron rails and then they put the letex mattress on top of the foundation.

Why are they selling this latex mattress with a faulty foundation?

Should I get a complete new replacement and give this one more try?

This time just putting the foundation NOT on my iron rails but just the 4 legs that it comes with?

But then some people said the foundation starts to make a creeking noise.

Or should I go with sams club latex mattress?

Firstposter: Hopefully you will not think me rude because of this response.

But you have asked a lot of questions and you have received a lot of answers. It would seem to me that it is time for you to do some research on your own. A lot of the research can be done right on this website where a lot of questions have been posted and a lot of responders have answered,....to all kinds of questions. But when you keep asking simplistic questions like, "please give me link to Sam's Club latex mattresses" it is hard to take you seriously. If you do not know how to Google Sam's Club, then I don't think the people here can be of much assistance to you.

I was told by delivery guys that that is how the foundation is made!!

This thread
, starting at post #67 is where someone else had something missing from their foundation. It doesn't sound like exactly the same issue you're having, but it is possible something is missing, despite what the delivery people say. Obviously, something is very wrong.

Personally, I would call Costco and ask them about it. They will take it back. In the meantime, do as someone else has suggested, while you have the opportunity: Put it on the floor and see if you like it before returning the whole bed.

also, if you bought from costco and need to return it, just call customer service, they will pick it up for free and give complete refund...costco is awesome

mine has no sag, so either you got a bad one or something wrong with foundation

sleep science foundations for latex and foam are identical, i have had a few and no issues so something is wrong

This foundation isn't supported as well in the middle. I built two twin longs myself (to go under a king). The delivery men had no idea what it even was, so I just felt better building them myself. The boxes were sealed.. I followed all the directions.. and used all the parts, just in case anyone is questioning :)

There are several metal bars running along the edges, but none in the center. On the king, it feels like my wife is on the other side of a hurdle, because the two edges in the middle are higher than the sagging middle areas of the foundation.

Additionally, the foundation is put together with hand screws. This made assembly very easy. However, they don't actually screw into the pieces - they just twist in and press on the male metal pieces. So basically, after a couple of nights, all these metal joints were squeaking.

Now, if you like the bed, I guess it is worth finding a better foundation.. But the bed is extremely firm and we find it very uncomfortable! We are just waiting for Costco to pick this thing up.. what to get next?

Just return the sleep science foundation and get a different foundation. I just received my sleep science king latex. (I will post review after a couple of weeks of use)

I bought the Tempurpedic 2 piece twin XL foundation to use with it and seems to be fine and doesn't make any noise.

I chose it because it is designed for a very heavy mattress and I liked that it was made nail less for less chance of squeaks.

Downside it is expensive compared to other wood foundations

http://www.tempurpedic.com/accessories/foundations/sand_microsuede_high_and_low_foundations/

Superior Structural Design

  • Constructed with premium, 5/8" medium density fiberboards (MDF) for increased strength and durability
  • Nail-free assembly eliminates squeak points
  • Injection molded corner braces, made of polypropylene resin, support greater lateral loads
  • Solid 1/4" MDF top is reinforced with interlocking cross braces for stability
  • Guaranteed trouble-free performance

Mc4nam,

Looks like you have tried Sleep science costco matress with its foundation and tempur-Pedic foundation.

How is it working out for you?

Is the mattress firm enough?

Does it sink in with its foundation? If yes did the problem go away with tempur-pedic foundation?

I am in process of buying a new matress, sleep science from costco is what I am considering.

Few comments on you experiance with it will be helpful.

Thanks

This is funny. You ask why? I have been reading this before here too and now I experienced it!

I went to visit my friend. He had this Sleep Science latex mattress set one just put in guest room along with the foundation.

Funny. I was the first one to sleep on this.

Midnight I wake up.

I am sinking in the middle of the bed!!!!

I was astonished.

I wake up switch on the lights and knock at my friends room. he comes and we both look up and down the mattress set.

WHAT DO WE FIND.

THE FOUNDATION IS ONLY METAL BARS AND THERE IS not 1 bar in the center!

I might also add that the hollow metal bars are covered by a junk looking vinyl cover that gives away to slighest pressure!

I have never seen anyone sell such JUNK.

Now my friend is PISSED OFF AT COSTCO FOR LETTING SLEEP SCIENCE SELL THIS FOUNDATION.  HE IS PISSED OFF AT SLEEP SCIENCE FOR DUPING PEOPLE.

WHOEVER IS TELLING YOU THAT FOUNDATION FOR THIS LATEX BED IS GOOD IS LYING.  Don't buy it.

Also I might add that I slept on the soft side up. And that it is just very very soft and I sank in the mattress.
