We bought the firm matress (massager, head and foot lift) A few years ago I had a herniated lumbar disc which has never really been a problem...until I started sleeping on this godawful bed.  I thought I just needed to get used to the bed, which the sales clerk told us is common.  The sales clerk said it (mattress) would be a little firmer than the one in the show room, but pretty quickly it would "soften" up a bit;  so if we wanted a firm-style we should go with the firm mattress.  After about 10 weeks of sleeping on this bed, my lower back is to the point that I may need surgery.  My husband has now developed problems with his back.

I wish I knew how to get it to "soften" a bit.  We tried a softer "topper" for a few weeks, but that wasn't the answer.  We are stuck with a bed that cost $7,000.00+ and cannot sleep on it.  Honestly, it is like sleeping on a rock.  ***Does anyone know how to slightly soften this kind of bed?

Walking on the mattress is a good idea to try, but I'm not sure it will make a huge difference if you've already had the bed for 10 weeks.  If you have any type of mattress pad or topper on it, try removing that to where only your fitted sheet is covering the mattress and see if it feels a little softer after a few nights.  Sometimes those can prevent your body heat from getting to the mattress and allowing it to conform like it is supposed to.
