Jasper:  Where did you find a coupon for the wool topper?  It doesn't seem to be on sale anymore.  This may be my next attempt, as I have tried so many combinations with what I have.  I just am not sure if the wool topper backing will block the 3 lb. memory foam from being soft.  I like the idea there are no seam lines or lumps, bumps, or anything on a wool topper.

QVC has a wool topper, any opinions?  Sealy makes it so I do wonder if it is any good, you can't tell from the description or the picture.

I searched the web for coupon codes for that website, and lucked out.

I have a cheap 1inch memory foam topper I've bought to make the guest air mattress more comfortable (the guests say it helps a lot but still feel "eh" about the combination), and from what I can tell the memory foam really does need your body heat to get soft. It's hard to know for certain but I suspect any wool topper that is fleeced onto a backing would isolate your body heat from what's underneath. That would include the snugfleece topper and the one at QVC. I chose a fleece topper because I read they don't suffer from pilling, and we do not mind the stiffness added by the backing. If you really have to avoid stiffness and want maximum heat transfer, your best bet is probably to get a simple wool blanket as a layer. Those "IsoCool" sheets and modern performance fabrics like Polartech basically do what wool does but thinner, so you might want to consider that. However, I settled on wool because the impression I got from my research is that a good wool topper is just more effective at dissipating body heat, and my husband sleeps hot. An IsoCool sheet will at least keep you from getting hotter, and maybe help some. Stay away from terry covers; I've read they make people hotter, and TempurPedic is currently moving away from their terry covers perhaps for that reason, or so I've read.
