If you are willing to stay at a hotel, try Hilton Garden Inn. They have their own line of air mattress that is adjustable from soft to extra firm. They are my hotel of choice and I find the bed to be very comfortable. I set the bed on extra firm and I sleep great.
I have a Comfortaire GS 900 queen size. I'm not sure how it compares with the Opulence but I am very pleased with it. I have had it about 13 months now. I can tell you I have posted on this forum before. I was struggling to find a bed that was comforatable for me and had tried several kinds -...
I recently got a 2" topper from www.foambymail.com. They offer 2 choices: soft or medium (and they also offer 1" toppers). I chose medium. It is actually more firm than I expected - perhaps because my mattress is very firm - but I am pleased. I ordered the 2" because I was nervous that 1"...
It has been a while since I've posted. I am happy with the bed I have now. Here is a summary of the entire saga:
Flobed: I purchased a Flobed in early January. I got the setup that was indicated to be firm. It was too soft for me. I did several core exchanges to get super firm cores but...
It is called a convoluted top. It does go inside the mattress and stays in place very well. Latex on top of latex just does not move around very easily. In fact, it takes some extra effort to lay the latex pieces properly because you can't simply slide them around. Check out this link to see...
Thanks Cloud9 and princesspea. I'm sure you are both right. I had an e-mail from FloBed this evening saying they processed the $200 credit for the returned cores. I suspect I will end up waiting the full 30 days for the credit on the bed. I WILL call them if they are late. I did call them 2...
I'm still waiting for the Stearns & Foster from Sears. They were supposed to deliver last Friday but someone made an error. It is now coming this week on Friday. I had a message on my phone tonight confirming delivery. They actually have a 30 day return policy where you can get your money...
Leo3 - The bed may work better without the convoluted topper. When it arrived, they actually made an error and did not send the topper so I slept a few nights without it. I can say that it was firmer but it was winter here and the bed was freezing. The topper makes a huge difference on...
I gave it a try but it just didn't work for me. The Flobed was too soft, even when I tried 3 super firm cores. It started out good but then the back aches came. It was a good test and the Flobed folks were very nice. It's just not the right bed for me. I contacted Flobed last week. They...
Bluemoon2 - don't give up! I don't know if you are switching things around every day but Flobeds told me that you should give it at least a couple of nights for your body to adjust after you move cores around. I have to say that this advice helped me because I was changing things every day...
I got a request to update the post and add some photos so here goes...
Last night I set up the cores as follows: xfirm / xfirm / firm. This has been the best setting todate. I don't sleep on the other side that currently has: firm / firm / medium. I don't think all the xfirm cores are...
Hello BlueMoon2. I don't have it all "tuned in" yet but I would say the bed is working out pretty well and I have no regrets. I am 165 lbs and right now I have it at firm/xfirm/xfirm. My preference is more like Lynn2006 and I may even get some super firm cores. I've been changing things...
So the fiber bed is not necessary for warmth. With all the parts, including the convolute pad, the bed is warm. I wonder if Kohl's will let me return it?
Thanks Lynn2006. You always provide very useful information and I appreciate it. I am testing tonight without the fiber bed and I hope it works out as I really don't want it - so I'll give an update tomorrow. The fact that your latex bed is warmer than your old bed is encouraging. I do have...
