I ordered a daybed with trundle that has metal slats about 4 inches apart for occasional guests and aging parents. It's next to a covered radiator, so I'm wondering if a hybrid or latex mattress is better than foam. Any recommendations under 8" thick?

I'd go with a latex since it holds up better over time and won't sag. But do your best to make it dense enough and breathable considering that it's near the radiator. Brooklyn Bedding and Sleep On Latex have solid options under 8". Idk. I prefer 8" above though?

For a daybed by a radiator, go with a hybrid or latex mattress less than 8 inches thick. They allow air to circulate and don't trap heat like foam does. Gel memory foam could work if you want something softer but still breathable.
