Slimline Mattress?

I have a lovely sleigh bed and do not want a mattress that will be overly deep as it will spoil the profile of the bed.
Is there such a thing as a supportive mattress and box spring combo today that is not so deep? Which brands would be most higly rated?

You can certainly buy low profile box springs that are about half the height of regular ones.

I would find the mattress and then determine the height of foundation that the bed will take - - we are in same sort of situation and have found foundations as low as three inches and mattresses fanging from nine to fifteen - trick is to determine how much space you have to work with from your beframe to mattress top. There are work-arounds.
