Some people prefer firmer beds and others like beds softer but in all I feel too soft hurts the back by not giving support but too hard with no topper provides pain in the pressure points like my too firm conventional mattress did making me turn to much.

Your mattress sounds like it is made well and if you are comfortable then it sounds like a good deal. What is the return policy on it if it is not comfortable after a week?
Other than that, I feel everyone should go for what is comfortable for their backs and bodies since we are all made different with different requirements. I just needed a mattress where I could tweak it to be the best for my back as it could. After my car accident last year, I seemed to need my bed even firmer and I was blessed...

I PM' ed you. All mattresses must meet the strict fire codes in some way and most use chemicals. Hastens claims to use sea water, Mcroskey has their barrier and there are several mattresses that can only be purchased at medical supply with a doctors prescription. Several latex mattress companies make the claim that latex is "naturally" fire retardant, but these are also the companies that claim latex is "natural". Latex is about as natural as a Tang and Twinkie breakfast....

First, please do not let yourself be caught up in the ridiculous marketing schemes of mattress companies. Every mattress is man (or robot) made and all foam products, including latex, are man made and contain artificial substances in some form. Calling any mattress "organic" is a joke. Mattresses are not food and what kind of fertilizer used on the rubber tree plants or the cotton or what is fed to the horses has no bearing whatsoever on the quality of the mattress or if it is healthy for you or not. Frankly I would stay away from almost any company advertising "organic" mattresses.
That being said, there are mattresses that are more natural then others. At the top of the chain are companies like Hastens of Sweden and VI-Spring of the UK that use primarily horsehair and cotton for their comfort layers. They...

Not a problem.
The King Erfjord does exist and I like it for the money ... a king is either $1,050 ... or $1099. IKEA Canada has a 45 day return policy 100% cash return or up to 90 days for an exchange.
I like it a lot WITH the Tolg topper ... although, if I was living in US I would consider the Milan King Mattress from www.naturabeds.com
They will charge me $150 for shipping plus taxes at the border make it less affordable.
I took my wife into the showroom (I knew which one I wanted ... the Erfjord ... but thought I would let her decide). We tried the Hasselback, and it was quite firm. We then put the Tolg latex topper on it and it was still firm but a little more comfortable.
We then tried the Erfjord with the topper and her face relaxed, eyes...

We are quite different ... I am 6'5" and from your posts ... I think you are almost 5". You had a car accident about a year ago and are quite allergic to PU ... I have neither issues. So you are VERY right about your comment each person needs to find a solution that works for their comfort level.
IKEA's return policy is actually very good. Up to 45 days and exchange or refund and up to 90 days for an exchange.
I keep thinking of a spring mattress as they are on sale right now, but the comfort level for me just isn't there. So I will keep looking into it.
Personally, I would like to follow the solution that you have found but I am quite interested in IKEA"s options.
Cheers,

I had a latex mattress which lasted about two years before foam stopped working. I bought a latex topper for our newer bed but I hated the feeling...latex is boing-y(hubby liked it, tho). Every time I turned over, I bounced, LOL!
I would research ad nauseum about springs in the bed(heard somewhere, maybe on this list, that Simmons springs are not great), as well as what they layer above them. I have been through so many mattresses in the past couple of years(seems that foam quality took a nosedive after Katrina), it seems that any polyurethane foam just won't last...
