Do any of you have problems with your toppers sliding off the top of your mattress and having to constantly straighten it out? How do you keep them on without all the shifting! Right now I have a 2 inch memory foam topper with no cover on it, on top of my SBR mattress.

I want to get a new bed and a natura topper and wonder if I will continue having this problem.

I went to Mervyn's and they didn't have terry cloth or stretch mattress covers. : (

This is why I like my Ultimate CuddleBed from Costco. It makes my topper feel sooooo cushy and cozy. I highly recommend it!

I returned a couple of mattress pads due to this problem. The tight diamond stitching on most woven cotton mattress pads made to fit snuggly over the mattress with elastic sides actually produces a sort of trampoline effect when you lie on it. Couple that with the stiff liner on the bottom and it does make the mattress or the topper on the mattress feel harder. I discovered that the mattress pads that are quilted in broad horizontal bands are much softer all around and eliminate the trampoline effect completely.

Leo, I don't know if you have a Mervyn's nearby, but they carry both the mattress pad I just described as well as a stretch terry one that sounds just like what you're looking for. If you don't have a local Mervyn's try their website at mervyns.com

That's odd. I was just in there the other day and they carried both varieties at the Simi Valley store. Call around and ask to speak to someone in the bedding department.

Do you know what the mattress cover is called or who makes it? I wouldn't know what to ask for. I wonder if Walmart or somewhere else has it? I wish Costco didn't charge a fee or I would look for the Cuddlebed you guys have. Also that other topper they no longer make that some of you like. SO disappointing that you can't even get that now. Sigh.....

It's only sold at Costco.com amd there's no fee. You don't even have to be a member. You can use any credit card, too. Shipping and handling is included.

It's too bad that Penneys no longer has the Dream Coil pad. Maybe you can write or call Carpenter and ask if they'll sell you one or direct you to where you can:

If you can hold out for a bit longer I'll swing by Mervyns the middle of next week and get that information for you. I was just on their website--not very useful since you can't order merchandise online. Ithink Target also has a mattress pad with wide ribbed bands of quilting, but I couldn't swear to it. But Mervyns stretch terry pad really sounds like it's exactly what you're looking for.

Thanks Cloud9 for your help. I appreciate it. Yes, Mervyn's website didn't list merchandise even. That would help to know the brand and maybe I can google it or call somewhere.

I think it might have been their own brand. I'll check this week. Look for a post on Thursday,

Thanks BeddyBye. It doesn't seem to be obvious you don't have to have a membership card on their website. Have you, or anyone, returned something that you bought online from Costco, and that you are not a member? Do they throw you out of the store and laugh at you? I never liked that store, found customer service not so customer friendly.

I sent an email to Carpenter, will see what they say.

Leo, I swung my Mervyns Wednesday. The reason you couldn't find either of those two mattress pads is because they recently discontinued and closed them out. There were just a few of the ribbed pads left in a twin size and all of the stretch terrys were gone. Darn! That terry pad seemed like it was exactly what you were looking for. Why is it they always discontinue the really good products while the so-so ones are stocked forever?

I poked around online and wasn't able to come up with another stretch terry pad anywhere. Bed Bath and Beyond does have a ribbed pad. Looks similar to the one I have and like. It's the Laura Ashley Home Overfilled Ribbed pad with a cotton top. Sells for $29.99 and you can find it in the store so you can take a look at it.

Sorry. I think you missed that stretch terry pad by about three weeks.
