It would help if you'd have given a url, but I found it:
http://www.denvermattress.com/groups_1-184-0-0-0-4.htm

 Here's the description:

"Featuring a 2” Eco-Friendly Talalay Latex Comfort Layer, Next Generation Tri-Zone air chambers, a whisper quiet leak-free pump, and independent head, lumbar and foot support for both you and your partner all created with legendary Denver Mattress quality. "

I have never tried an air bed. I like that it is tri-zoned so you can adjust the zones of your mattress, and if you like 2" of Talalay on top, that could work.

Potential problems that I see are:
What if you do not like how Talalay feels? then you'll have to go out and buy a new topper at a cost of 100-300 depending on what size your bed is... and what kind of topper you buy...
What is the ILD or IFD of the Talalay topper?

If you don't like it you're going to have to rip open...
Topper for a couple of side sleepers - bonesdad

Looking for a mattress topper (prefer latex?) to go on a firm innerspring mattress (Durango, from Denver Mattress).

My wife and I are both side sleepers.  I have more trouble with pressure points (shoulder mostly, hip minor) than she does.   I don't want anything to mushy or "sinky", as I have always liked a firmer mattress.  I'm thinking a nice 1-1.5" latex topper sounds about right.

Where can I get a nice 1.5" latex topper, say in the 24-30ILD range?  Will something like this stay relatively cool?  I tend to get hot at night anyway and don't want to make that worse.

Great forum!...
Re: Marriott Bed - terriks

I also loved the bed my husband and I slept on at a Marriott.  It was the 9" foam bed that you linked to.  I didn't like the idea of the polyurethane foam though, as I don't believe that it is as long lasting as latex foam.  In my attempt to duplicate the feeling of that bed I have purchased a latex mattress from Denver mattress, the Snowmass model http://www.denvermattress.com/index.php?c=60&p=788  I only paid $900 for the mattress and foundation.  So far, so good.  I also added a Cuddlebed from Costco http://www.costco.com/Browse/Productgroup.aspx?Prodid=11189730&search=cuddlebed&Mo=0&cm_re=1_en-_-Top_Left_Nav-_-Top_search&lang=en-US&Nr=P_CatalogName:BC&Sp=S&N=5000043&whse=BC&Dx=mode+matchallpartial&Ntk=Text_Search&Dr=P_CatalogName:BC&Ne=4000000&D=cuddlebed&Ntt=cuddlebed&No=0&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Nty=1&topnav=&s=1  which gives the bed a really nice plush feeling....

I recently purchased a Snowmass mattress from Denver mattress.  http://www.denvermattress.com/details-60_788_MA-DMSMPLQ_0.htm

I got a great deal on it at the store - $900 for the mattress and foundation.  So far we like it.  It took a few nights to get used to it, as it felt different than our old spring mattress.  The mattress has a 6" Talalay latex core with a 2" Talalay latex comfort  layer.  There is an inch of PU foam in the quilting layer.  Denver mattress had another latex mattress, the Cleopatra that was more expensive and also had more PU foam.  While the extra PU foam felt good in the store I thought that there was a greater chance that it would break down.  I also got a Cuddlebed from Costco, which I love....

I tried out some Natura latex beds that a furniture store near me has just started to carry.  The first couple I tried had a dunlop core.  I did not like the feel of them.  Very "dead" feeling.   Then I tried one with a talalay core and it was very comfortable.  I ended up with a bed from Denver Mattress (a chain store) it's their Snowmass latex bed.  It has a 6 inch talalay core with a softer 2 inch talalay on top.  It does have about an inch of PU form in the quiliting, but I think that I got a great deal - the mattress was only $750!  That's about half of what I would have paid with SleepEZ.  Granted, I had to take the bed as it came configured, but I just wasn't in the position to plunk down $1500 on a mattress right now.  So far...

I know what you mean about people thinking you are crazy....I kept changing out beds, refusing to sleep on a practically new bed, my husband started calling me the Princess and the Pea.  BUT MY BACK HURT.  Just because his didn't did not mean I was crazy.
It IS your mattress.  My low back pain was so chronic it was awful.  I went to Denver and stayed at the Brown's Hotel and Spa and had wonderful sleep.  I stayed three nights.  The first one healed my back by 80%.  The next night I was 100% perfect.  The third night was a blessing.  I wrote down what kind of bed...it turned out that it had offset coils and somewhat minimal padding...which set me on my course of what I needed to buy.  It also had real springs in the box spring...which I now have.  My back is much improved and I do...

You are not alone.  I have had the same trouble....my husband can sleep on anything and I just can't.  One time, I returned from a trip to Denver where i slept on a lovely bed that healed my chronic low back pain in two nights.  Heaven!  I came home and refused to sleep on our bed one more night...he asked what I wanted to do, and I told him I was going to cut it open and take out some of the crappy foam!  He was stunned, but he agreed.
Your old, comfy bed likely was made better...springs, an insulator layer, cotton batting, and minimal foam on top.  Too much foam doesn't sleep well.  I have had no luck with Latex myself...tho my hubby loved the latex topper I brought home once.  Midway through the first night I was ready to heave it.
I found that the minimal padding is the...

You can look at the tag on the mattress in the hotel to find out when it was manufactured.  I always do!!!  Oddly the two I've slept in that were lovely(one at the Brown Hotel and Spa in Denver, one at the Awahnee hotel in Yosemite Nat'l Park) were five years old!  No, they don't seem to replace them that frequently!

Innerspring advice, anyone in Denver??? - nikkim

Have been pouring over the postings on this forum for days, researching what to do about replacing my mattress. Thanks to all of you for an incredible amount of info and personal experience! I will try to keep this as brief as possible...

I currently have a 3½ YO Stearns & Foster "Silver Dream" (expensive, huge pillowtop) that is killing me. I have multiple disc & SI issues & doing my best to avoid surgery. My bed isn't helping me one bit. I tried a memory foam bed...husband hated it & it didn't really help me much, so it went back. I'm 5'7" & 135 lbs & husband is 5'10" & 165 lbs. We are both primarily side sleepers. I try to stay off my stomach as much as possible.

After all my research here, I have decided to go w/ the best innerspring I can buy w/ the least amount of junk...
Re: Is it worth it to try to augment an innerspring mattress that feels too firm to begin with? - marka

After reading on this forum, that was the tact we took from the start, i.e. to 'soften up' a firm inner-spring mattress (Denver Mattress' so-called "Doctors Choice") with foam top layers.

For what it's worth, I experimented with dunlop latex, talalay latex, and memory foam. What I ended up with was 1" 24 ILD talalay latex (from sleeplikeabear.com) over 1" 'Sensus' memory foam (from Overstock.com). One inch of foam wasn't enough to stop the pinched circulation when side-sleeping, and three inches produced too little firmness for back sleeping. With latex (bounce) and memory foam (sink) layers, the two-inches of additional 'give' feels pretty neutral.

The memory foam sleeps on the warm side, so that's one reason why it's beneath the cooler-sleeping latex. The other reason is odor.

The memory foam off-gassed pretty strongly for the first week, unpleasant strong odor, while the talalay latex smelled like creme-brulee at first, not...
